A 30-year-old man has been brutally killed in a shooting in the north-western Sydney suburb of Carlingford this morning. The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 am on North Rocks Road. However, as the police investigation commences, another shocking detail is emerging.
Targeted Killing on a Busy Road
At around 7:00 am, the young man was discovered with gunshot wounds inside a car on North Rocks Road. Officers from The Hills Police Area Command attended the scene and administered first aid, but his life could not be saved. The deceased has not yet been formally identified. Initial inquiries suggest this was a targeted attack.
Homicide Squad Intensifies Investigation
The crime scene has been completely sealed off by police. The NSW Police Homicide Squad, alongside the Raptor Squad—which investigates serious crimes—are leading the investigation. Acting Superintendent Michael Marinello clarified that this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public. There are indications that the victim was previously known to police.
